This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of the HiKOKI DS 12DA (Cordless Driver Drill) and DV 12DA (Cordless Combi Drill). Always read the safety warnings before use.
Safety Warnings
General Power Tool Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away. Use personal protective equipment, including eye protection.
Battery Tool Safety: Recharge only with the specified charger. Use only designated battery packs. Keep battery terminals free of metal objects to prevent short circuits. Do not expose batteries to fire or excessive temperatures.
Charging
Before using the tool, charge the battery. Connect the charger to a power source, insert the battery, and monitor the pilot lamp. A blinking red light indicates charging status. If the lamp flickers, check for foreign objects in the battery connector.

Mounting and Operation





- Removing/Inserting Battery: Use the latch to release or secure the battery.
- Selecting Mode: Use the mode-switching dial to select between drilling and driving (or impact drilling for DV12DA).
- Torque Adjustment: Use the clutch dial to set the tightening torque.
- Mounting the Bit: Insert the bit into the keyless chuck and tighten the sleeve securely.
- Reversing Rotation: Use the push button to change the rotational direction.
Maintenance and Inspection
Regularly inspect the tool for dull bits, loose mounting screws, and motor condition. Keep the tool clean and store it in a dry place below 40°C, out of reach of children. Ensure lithium-ion batteries are fully charged before long-term storage.
LED Light Warning Signals
The tool features protection functions. If triggered, the LED light will blink. Refer to the manual's Table 3 for specific blink patterns and corrective actions, such as adjusting the shift knob to LOW or allowing the tool to cool.

Common problems
