The Hilti TE 1500-AVR is an electrically powered breaker designed for heavy-duty chiseling, demolition, and breaking up concrete, masonry, stone, and asphalt. Before using the tool, ensure you have read the safety instructions and that the tool is in good working condition. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye, ear, and respiratory protection.

Safety instructions

General safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away.

Electrical safety: Ensure the plug matches the outlet. Do not modify the plug. Avoid contact with earthed surfaces. Use an RCD-protected supply if working in damp locations.

Hammer safety: Wear ear protectors. Use auxiliary handles provided. Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces to avoid electric shock if the accessory contacts hidden wiring.

Operation

Fitting and adjusting the side handle: Ensure the side handle is fitted correctly and tightened securely before use.

Fitting the accessory tool: Apply a small amount of Hilti grease to the connection end of the accessory. Push the tool into the chuck until it engages with an audible click.

Removing the accessory tool: Pull the chuck back and remove the tool. Use protective gloves as the tool may be hot.

Chiseling: The chisel can be adjusted to 6 different positions (60° increments). Begin chiseling 80-100 mm from the edge of the workpiece at a 70°-80° angle, then increase to 90° as the tool penetrates.

Care and maintenance

Always unplug the tool before performing maintenance. Clean the air vents with a dry brush and wipe the casing with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use silicone-based cleaning agents. Regularly clean the dust shield on the chuck and grease the sealing lip. If the sealing lip is damaged, replace the dust shield.

Troubleshooting

If the tool fails to start, check the power supply, wait 4 seconds for electronics initialization, or reset after a power interruption. If the service indicator lights red, service is due or a fault has occurred. If it blinks red, the tool may be overheating or the voltage is too high.
