Quick Guide from the Manual
The Holmes HWF0910AT is a twin window fan designed for double-hung windows. It features a 1Touch thermostat that automatically turns the fan on or off based on a preset comfort level (60°F to 80°F). The fan allows for independent control of each motor to set intake, exhaust, or air exchange modes.
Installation Instructions
The fan is designed to fit double-hung windows with a minimum opening of 25 inches wide and 12 inches high. It is recommended for use with a window screen.
For Double-Hung Windows
- Align the fan horizontally in the window with controls facing you and the built-in extender panel to the right.
- Set the fan into the window opening.
- If the fan does not fit snugly, attach the included Slider Safe extender panel and adjust the built-in extender until the fan sits securely.
- Carefully close the window so the bottom edge rests on the top of the fan.
For Slider Windows
- Set the fan vertically in the window opening with the left side on the bottom and the built-in extender on top.
- Adjust the extender panel until the fan fits securely.
Operating Instructions
Plug the fan into a 120V AC electrical outlet. Use the Left/Right Fan Intake/Exhaust controls to set the direction of airflow for each motor.
1Touch Thermostat
Press the 1Touch Fan Button repeatedly until the desired temperature (60°F to 80°F) is reached. The fan will automatically turn on when the room temperature rises above the set point and turn off when it drops below the set point.
Manual Operation
To run the fan continuously, press the 1Touch Fan Button once for High setting and twice for Low setting. To stop the unit, press and hold the button for two seconds.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Always unplug the fan before cleaning or disassembling. Do not use gasoline, thinner, or benzene as cleaners.

Cleaning Blades and Grills
- Unplug the fan.
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws around the perimeter of the rear grill.
- Separate the front and rear grills just enough to access the blades.

- Securely fasten the grills back together.
Fuse Replacement
If the fan stops working, the fuse may be blown. The fan uses a 5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse.
- Unplug the fan by gripping the plug (do not pull the cord).
- Open the fuse cover on the top of the plug by sliding it towards the prongs.
- Remove the fuse carefully using a small screwdriver to pry it out by the metal ends.
