This document provides essential setup and configuration steps for the JBL BAR 1300XMK2 soundbar system. It covers physical installation, audio connectivity, sound calibration, and wireless pairing. What's in the box
The package includes the main soundbar, detachable surround speakers, and a subwoofer. You will also find two power cords (type varies by region), an HDMI cable, a remote control with two AAA batteries, wall mounting brackets, screws, and wall anchors.
Wall mounting
To mount the soundbar on the wall:
- Ensure a minimum distance of 120mm (4.7") from the TV.
- Mark the wall using the provided template with a spacing of 647mm (25.47").
- Use screws with a diameter of 4mm (0.16") and a length of at least 30mm (1.18").
- Secure the mounting brackets to the wall and attach the soundbar.
Connecting to your TV
The soundbar supports HDMI eARC and ARC connections:
- For eARC TV: Connect the HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT (TV ARC/TV eARC) port on the soundbar to the HDMI eARC port on your TV.
- For ARC TV: Connect the HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT (TV ARC/TV eARC) port on the soundbar to the HDMI ARC port on your TV.
Power on and charging
Connect the power cords to the soundbar, subwoofer, and detachable speakers. The detachable speakers can be charged by attaching them to the main soundbar or via a separate power source.
Sound calibration
Calibration optimizes the sound for your room:
- Place the detachable speakers in your listening area.
- Press the CALIBR button on the remote.
- Follow the on-screen prompts (1-CALIBRATION) and press the button again to confirm (1-DONE).
- Repeat the process for the second calibration step (2-CALIBRATION) if required.
Bluetooth pairing
To pair the rear speakers via Bluetooth:
- Ensure the speakers are powered on.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- Select 'BAR 1300MK2 REAR SPK' from the device list to connect.
App setup
Download the JBL ONE app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Connect your mobile device to your Wi-Fi network and follow the in-app instructions to complete the speaker setup.

Common problems
Rear speakers not connected
Ensure they are powered on and follow the Bluetooth pairing procedure in the manual.
USB playback not working
USB playback is only available on US and APAC versions; on other versions, the USB port is for service only.
