Table of contents

Important Information

The Karlik MRO-3 is an electronic push-rotary dimmer designed to switch on/off and regulate light intensity for systems controlled by 1-10V signals. It is suitable for LED lighting, 12V halogens with dimmable electronic transformers, and fluorescent lamps with dimmable electronic ballasts. The device features short-circuit protection.

Technical Data

  • Power supply: 250V~ 50Hz
  • Control voltage: 1V DC (min) to 12V DC (max)
  • Max control current: 50mA
  • Fuse: F-2A 250V
  • Protection index: IP 20
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +45°C
  • Mounting: Standard flush-mounted wall box fi 60mm

Installation

  1. Switch off the mains fuses of the home installation.
  2. Dismantle the control key, unscrew the nut, remove the washer, and the dimmer adapter with the intermediate frame.
  3. Connect the wires to the connection terminals according to the wiring diagram.
  4. Install the dimmer module in the installation box using the box mounting screws or the metal claws included with the controller.
  5. Install the controller components in the following order: external frame, intermediate frame, adapter, and washer.
  6. Screw in the nut, then mount the control key.
  7. Switch on the mains fuses and perform a test run.

Warning: The installation must be carried out by a qualified person at de-energized voltage. To maintain Class II protection, ensure the user cannot access the rear parts of the installation.

Wiring Diagrams

The device supports various 1-10V controlled systems. Ensure the L (Line), N (Neutral), and control (+/-) wires are connected correctly to your specific power supply unit, LED driver, or ballast as shown in the connection schemes.

Components and Assembly

The assembly consists of the module, external frame, intermediate frame, adapter, 0.5mm washer/shim, hexagonal nut, and the button (knob). Ensure these are assembled in the correct order to maintain proper fit and functionality.

Multiple Frame Installation

When installing the mechanism in multiple frames, first install the electronic light control mechanism in the mounting box. Ensure adjacent mechanisms are installed so that the "dovetails" overlap the central plate of the controller. The distance between the central frame of the dimmer and adjacent products should be approximately 1mm.

Warranty

The guarantee is provided for twelve months from the date of purchase. It does not cover fuse exchange, mechanical damage, or damages caused by self-repair or improper use.

Practical help

Common problems

Dimmer not functioning or light not dimming

Verify that the 1-10V control wires (+ and -) are connected correctly to the dimmable power supply or ballast.

Difficulty fitting into surface-mounted boxes

The product is compatible with DECO / MINI surface-mounted folding boxes. If installation is difficult, unscrew the metal claws located at the mechanism.

Before use

  • Switch off mains fuses before starting installation.
  • Ensure the lighting system is compatible with 1-10V control.
  • Verify the installation box is a standard flush-mounted wall box (fi 60mm).
  • Check that the control voltage does not exceed 12V DC.
  • Ensure the cross-section of connection cables is max 1.5 mm².

Specs in practice

1-10V Control
The dimmer regulates light intensity by sending a control signal between 1V and 12V to the power supply unit.
