Quick guide from the manual
The Peavey Bandit Supreme Teal Stripe Preamp Pedal is an exact recreation of the 2nd generation Peavey Bandit 112/Supreme 160 Lead channel circuit from circa 1990. It is designed to provide tube-like distortion and active tone shaping in a pedal format. Key features include a hard-bypass switch with anti-click circuitry, three-band active EQ, and switchable gain and mid-frequency shift options.
Control Panel Overview
The pedal features the following controls:
- SUPERSAT Control: Simulates tube distortion using soft clipping.
- POST GAIN: Adjusts the overall volume level of the lead channel. Perform final level adjustments after achieving the desired sound.
- BOTTOM, BODY, and EDGE EQ: Active tone controls providing +/-15 dB of boost or cut. Note that these controls are not functional on the normal channel.
- GAIN Switch: Boosts the overall system gain when depressed to the in position.
- SHIFT Switch: Changes the frequency range of the Body control. The in position sets a higher frequency, while the out position selects a lower frequency.
- SWITCH: A hard-bypass switch with anti-click circuitry for quiet operation.
Power and Connections
The pedal requires a 9V DC power supply with a negative tip (standard barrel-type). The internal circuitry generates positive and negative rails using a high-efficiency inverter. Connect your instrument to the IN jack and route the OUTPUT to your power amp, effects return, mixer, PA system, or instrument amplifier. The output impedance is 1 kΩ.

Common problems
These controls are only functional on the lead channel and are not active when using the normal channel.
Before use
- Ensure you are using a 9V DC negative tip power supply.
- Connect your instrument cable to the IN jack.
- Connect the OUTPUT jack to your amplifier, mixer, or effects return.
- Ensure the pedal is switched to the desired mode using the hard-bypass switch.
Specs in practice
- Output Impedance
- 1 kΩ, suitable for driving power amps, mixers, and other pedalboard setups.
- Power Supply
- Requires 9V DC (Negative Tip) power supply.
Model compatibility
- Designed for use with standard 9V DC negative tip power supplies.
- Compatible with power amps, effects returns, mixers, DDAW, PA systems, and instrument amplifiers.
