Quick Guide
The Spektrum 2-in-1 25A ESC/Receiver is a combined electronic speed controller and receiver designed for 1/18th to 1/12th scale RC vehicles. This manual covers the essential setup, including binding to your transmitter, programming running modes, and configuring battery types.
Specifications
- Continuous/Peak Current: 25A / 100A
- Motor Type: 380/390 Brushed
- Applications: 1/18th–1/12th On and Off Road
- LiPo/NiMH Cells: 2S LiPo, 6–7 Cell NiMH
- BEC Output: 6V, 3A (Switch Mode)
Binding
The transmitter and ESC/receiver are bound at the factory. If you need to rebind, follow these steps:
- Power OFF the vehicle and transmitter.
- Insert the supplied bind plug into the BND port.
- Power ON the vehicle. The 2-in-1 LED will flash blue.
- Power ON the SLT2 transmitter.
- When bound, the 2-in-1 emits a series of tones and the blue LED becomes solid.
- Remove the bind plug.
- Power the transmitter and vehicle OFF then ON to verify binding.
Programming
Use the jumper cap to set the Running Mode and Battery Type.
Running Mode Setting
The system supports switching between F-B-R (Forward-Brake-Reverse) and F-B (Forward-Brake) modes. The default is F-B-R.
- F-B-R Mode: Allows forward, brake, and reverse. To reverse, push the throttle trigger to the brake/reverse position, return to neutral, then push to reverse again.
- F-B Mode: Allows forward and brake only.
Battery Type Setting
- LiPo: Place the jumper in the LiPo position for 2S LiPo.
- NiMH: Place the jumper in the NiMH position for 6-7 cell NiMH.
Low Voltage Protection
The system includes Low Voltage Cutoff (LVC) protection:
- Below 6.4V: LED flashes slowly, max speed limited to 50%.
- Below 6.0V: LED flashes slowly, motor stops running.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, check the following:
- System powered ON but no motor function: Recharge/replace battery, ensure connections are secure, check system programming.
- System turns in wrong direction: This system is only compatible with vehicles requiring CCW motor rotation.
- System stops: Check programming for voltage/battery, let system cool, check gearing for overheating.
- System accelerates irregularly: Replace battery or wiring, check gearing.
- Steering servo works but system does not run: Check receiver connections, test system apart from vehicle.
