The Streetwize 12V 4.5W Solar Trickle Battery Charger is designed to maintain and slow-charge 12V batteries in vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, caravans, motorhomes, vans, and boats. Important: This device is not weatherproof and must not be used in the rain or wet weather. Never use the charger while the vehicle is running or being driven.
Product Elements

- 4.5W solar panel with 2.2m lead wire
- 12V plug socket connection
- 12V battery terminal connection cables
- Stainless steel mounting screws
How the Solar Charger Works
The unit uses THIN FILM technology to absorb UV light from a wide spectrum, allowing it to charge even in cloudy winter conditions. It converts solar energy into a 4.5W 12V DC supply. The panel can be connected via the vehicle's 12V socket or directly to the battery terminals.
Operating Instructions

- Ensure the vehicle is fully switched off before installation or connection.
- Position the solar panel in a location that does not obstruct the driver's view and allows for maximum direct sunlight. The panel can be tilted for better exposure.
- Connection: Connect the panel to the 12V battery using either the 12V plug socket or the battery terminal cables. If using terminal cables, connect the black lead to the negative (-) terminal and the red lead to the positive (+) terminal.
- Permanent Installation: Use the four included stainless steel mounting screws if permanent mounting is required.
- Heat Dissipation: If mounting permanently, it is recommended to use a heat-resistant spacer (not included) between the panel and the mounting surface.
Maintenance
Keep the glass surface of the solar panel clean at all times. Dirt, dust, or debris can significantly reduce the panel's effectiveness. Use a soft cloth to clean the panel regularly.
Health & Safety Guidelines
- Always ensure the vehicle is switched off when connecting or disconnecting the charger.
- Do not use the charger outdoors in rain or wet weather; it is not weatherproof.
- The solar panel contains glass substrates; handle with care and never strike the panel.
