Quick guide from the manual

The Swim & Fun Filterballs System 100W is a technical product designed for private pool use. It requires a surface skimmer (integrated or suspended) to function. Important: The system must be placed on a hard, level surface at least 3.5 meters from the pool edge. It must never be operated without water, as the water cools the motor. The system is not designed for vacuuming the pool floor; for that purpose, a pump with at least 250W is required.

Product Description

The system uses Filterballs in the tank to efficiently remove dirt and floating particles from the pool water. Dirty water is fed from the pool through a hose to the filter pump, which pushes it into the filter tank. The Filterballs capture the dirt, and clean water flows back to the pool through the return hose.

Safety Warnings

  • The system must be connected to an earthed power source with a residual-current device.
  • Never operate the filter without water.
  • Do not block the inlet at the pump or in the pool.
  • Do not use extension leads or multiple-plug adapters.
  • Keep the power cord away from sharp edges and do not bury it.
  • Repairs must only be carried out by qualified professionals.

Installation

Place the system on a hard surface, such as a concrete slab. It must be positioned at the same level as the bottom of the pool so water flows naturally to the pump. If the pool is below ground, the system must be placed in a dry, drained filter shaft.

Connection to the Pool

Connect the suction hose from the pool skimmer to the pump inlet nozzle using hose clamps. Connect the return hose from the filter tank return nozzle back to the pool. Ensure all hoses are properly fixed with clamps and use tape on threads if leakage occurs.

First Use and Priming

The pump is not self-priming. Before the first use, both the pool hose and the pump must be completely filled with water. Tip: Attach a hose to the base of the skimmer and turn on the water to fill the pump. Once the pump starts pulling water, a negative pressure will form in the hoses. If there is air in the system, open the ventilation valve on the lid slightly to release it.

Operation and Maintenance

Run the filter for 2 x 5 hours per day. Filterballs should be replaced once a year. Alternatively, they can be washed in a washing machine without soap at a maximum temperature of 30°C.

Winter Storage

At the end of the season, disconnect all hoses. Drain all water from the filter and the pump. Store the pump and filter tank in a dry, frost-free place, as frost damage is not covered by the warranty.

Practical help

Common problems

Pump runs but no water

Check for air in the system or ensure the pump is located at the same level as the pool bottom. Prime the hoses.

Pressure is too low

Check if the pump or hoses are blocked by leaves or debris. Clean the top valve.

Leaking filter assembly

The gasket is worn or dirty. Replace with a new gasket or clean and apply acid-free Vaseline.

Pump not running

Ensure the plug is in the socket and the residual-current device is switched on.

Before use

  • Ensure the system is on a hard, level surface.
  • Check that all connections are tight.
  • Ensure water level is at the middle of the skimmer opening.
  • Prime the pump before first use.
