Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential operating instructions for various Timex watch models. Key features covered include movement types, water resistance, Indiglo night-light, and various calendar/alarm settings. Always ensure the crown is in the correct position to avoid damaging the movement.
Starting your watch
Quartz Movement: Remove the plastic guard from under the crown and press the crown against the case to start.
Solar Movement: Expose the watch to light (sunlight or artificial) to charge. Remove the plastic guard and press the crown in to start.
Hand-wind Movement: Remove the plastic guard, set the time/date, and press the crown in. Slowly turn the crown clockwise until you feel resistance and hear ticking.
Water and shock resistance
If your watch is water-resistant, it will be marked with a depth rating (e.g., 30m/98ft). Warning: Do not press buttons or pull out the crown while the watch is underwater unless it is rated for 200 meters.
Setting time and date
Most models use a multi-position crown (A, B, C). Pull the crown to the appropriate position to adjust the time or date. For screw-in crowns, ensure you screw the crown back in after adjustment to maintain water resistance.
Bracelet adjustment
The manual provides instructions for adjusting sliding clasp and foldover clasp bracelets, as well as removing links. Use a pointed tool to push pins in the direction indicated by arrows on the links.
Battery
The watch battery is not intended to be replaced by the consumer. Only a professional jeweler should perform battery replacements.
