Quick guide from the manual

The TradeQuip Hydraulic Workshop Press is designed for professional straightening, bending, pressing, and removing/installing gears, bearings, and bushings. Before using the equipment, ensure you have read and understood the manual. Always perform a pre-operational safety check and ensure the hydraulic system is purged of air before use.

Safety checks

  • Inspect before use: Check for bent, broken, cracked, or leaking parts. Ensure all bolts and nuts are firmly tightened.
  • Personal protection: Wear approved impact goggles, heavy-duty work gloves, and appropriate clothing.
  • Environment: Use only on a stable, level, dry, and non-slippery surface.
  • Operation limits: Do not exceed the rated maximum load capacity. Do not use for spring compressing.
  • Structural integrity: If you detect signs of structural failure, stop using the press immediately.

Assembly

Unpacking: Ensure the product is in perfect condition and dispose of packaging materials safely.

  1. Bolt the cross legs to the bottom of the main frames.
  2. Bolt the upper crossbeam to the head of the main frames.
  3. Attach the hydraulic power unit to the jack plate or attachment bars using the provided bolts.
  4. Insert the press platform support pins through the holes in the main frame.
  5. Tip the platform into a diagonal position to introduce it between the uprights, then lower it onto the support pins.

Operation

  1. Preparation: Ensure the hydraulic unit is fully closed.
  2. Setup: Position the working table at the desired height using the support pins.
  3. Alignment: Place arbor plates or press tools on the table and align the workpiece beneath the ram. Ensure the workpiece is secure and will not flex.
  4. Pressing: Operate the pump slowly until the ram touches the workpiece. Recheck alignment before applying full pressure. Do not exceed the stroke indicated on the label.
  5. Completion: Release the pressure using the release valve to allow the ram to retract.

Maintenance

  • Lubrication: Lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
  • Cleaning: Keep the press clean, dry, and protected from harsh conditions.
  • Hydraulic Oil: Use only good quality hydraulic jack oil. Do not use brake fluid.
  • Air Purging: If the system malfunctions, purge the hydraulic system by opening the release valve and pumping the handle several times.
  • Storage: Store in a dry location with the ram and piston fully retracted.

Troubleshooting

If the press fails to build pressure, ensure the release valve is tightly closed and bleed the hydraulic system. If the press will not hold a load, check for a damaged main seal or obstructed check valve. If the press will not lower, check for an overfilled reservoir or a seized release valve pin.

Specifications

1061T: Safe Working Capacity: 20,000kg; Working Range: 63-783mm; Piston Ram Stroke: 160mm; Nett Weight: 89kg.

Practical help

Common problems

Press Jack will not build pressure

Ensure release valve is tightly closed, bleed the hydraulic system, or check for overload.

Press Jack will not hold load

Check release valve, inspect for damaged main seal, or check for obstructed main check valve.

Press Jack will not lower after unloading

Check for overfilled reservoir or seized release valve pin.

Poor force performance

Check fluid level and bleed the system to remove trapped air.

Before use

  • Inspect for bent, broken, cracked, or leaking parts.
  • Ensure all bolts and nuts are firmly tightened.
  • Verify the surface is stable, level, dry, and non-slippery.
  • Wear approved impact goggles, heavy-duty work gloves, and appropriate clothing.
  • Purge the hydraulic system to remove air before operation.

Specs in practice
