The WEN 20610-PB Plunge Base Kit is designed to convert a standard router into a plunge router. Before operating, ensure the tool is inspected for loose hardware or damaged parts. Always disconnect the power source before making adjustments or performing maintenance.
Assembly
Installing the Router
- Open the base locking latch.
- Slide the router into the plunge base, ensuring the notch in the plunge base slides into the slot on the back of the router body.
- Close the base locking latch to secure the plunge base to the router.
Installing the Dust Shield and Chute
- Dust Shield: Fit the dust shield into the slots on the front of the plunge base.
- Dust Chute: Remove the pre-installed dust chute knob, fit the dust chute into the slot on the back of the base, and re-install the knob through the chute to secure it.
Adjustments
Setting the Cutting Depth
- Install the desired router bit.
- Place the router on a flat surface. Loosen the depth lock knob and manually raise or lower the depth scale.
- Use the fine-tune adjustment knob to make precise adjustments (0.1mm per marking).
- Loosen the plunge lock lever and lower the router body until the bit touches the workpiece. Tighten the lever.
- Bring down the depth scale until it touches the turret depth stop. Note the reading.
- Unlock the plunge lock lever, raise the router, and set the depth scale to the desired depth relative to the initial reading.
Installing Accessories
- Fence: Attach the fence poles to the bracket, insert them into the fence mounting slots on the base, and secure with the three fence locking knobs.
- Template Guide: Remove the two screws on the bottom of the plunge base, place the template guide into the recess, and secure it with the screws.
Maintenance
- Keep ventilation openings free from dust and debris.
- Wipe tool surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh solvents.
- Inspect for loose hardware, damaged battery packs, or cracked parts before each use.
- Store in a clean, dry place away from children.
