Quick guide from the manual

The ZOOM G2.1u is a multi-effect processor for guitar. This guide covers essential operations including power management, patch selection, and basic editing. For optimal performance, use the recommended AC adapter (Zoom AD-0006) or fresh alkaline batteries.

Device Overview and Connections

The top panel features a module selector, parameter knobs, expression pedal, and foot switches for patch selection and effect control. The rear panel includes the input jack for your guitar, output/phones jack, USB connector for computer interface, and the DC input.

Selecting and Editing Patches

To select a patch, ensure the module selector is set to PLAY and use the foot switches to cycle through banks and patches. To edit a patch, turn the module selector to the desired effect module, use the BANK keys to select the effect type, and adjust parameters with the three parameter knobs. Remember to store your changes using the STORE key before switching patches, or they will be lost.

Using the Tuner and Rhythm Function

To access the tuner, press both foot switches simultaneously. The display shows the note and tuning accuracy. The rhythm function provides 40 built-in patterns. Start/stop playback with the RHYTHM key, adjust volume with parameter knob 3, and set tempo using parameter knob 2 or the TAP key.

Expression Pedal and Foot Switch

The built-in expression pedal can control volume or specific effect parameters. Use the PEDAL ASSIGN key to select the target. You can also connect an external expression pedal (FP01/FP02) or foot switch (FS01) to the CONTROL IN jack for additional control over patches, tempo, or bypass/mute functions.

USB Audio Interface

Connect the G2.1u to a computer via USB to use it as an audio interface. It is compatible with Windows XP and MacOS X (10.2 or later) without needing special drivers. Ensure the DAW application is configured to use the G2.1u as the input/output device.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. If you experience high noise, ensure you are using the specified AC adapter. If the reverb effect does not operate, stop the rhythm pattern first. For factory resets, power on the unit while holding the STORE key and press STORE again to confirm.
