The AcuRite 00957A2 is a mechanical kitchen timer with a 60-minute measurement range. It requires no batteries and operates by manually winding the dial.
Operating instructions
- Turn the pointer clockwise a full rotation (to the 60-minute mark) to wind the mechanism.
- Turn the pointer counter-clockwise to the desired number of minutes.
- The bell will sound automatically when the set time has elapsed.
Care and maintenance
To clean the timer, simply wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not submerge in water or use harsh chemicals.
Safety warnings
- Do not place the timer on or near hot surfaces, as this may damage the internal mechanism or the exterior casing.
Recommended cooking temperatures
The device includes a reference guide for USDA recommended safe internal temperatures for various foods:
- Ground Meat & Poultry: 160°F (71°C) for beef/pork, 165°F (74°C) for poultry.
- Fresh Beef & Veal: 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare (with 3 min. rest), 160°F (71°C) for medium, 170°F (77°C) for well done.
- Lamb & Fresh Pork: 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare (with 3 min. rest), 160°F (71°C) for well done.
- Poultry: 165°F (74°C).
- Ham: 145°F (63°C) for fresh (with 3 min. rest), 165°F (74°C) for pre-cooked.
- Fish & Shellfish: 145°F (63°C).
- Eggs: 160°F (71°C).
- Leftovers: 165°F (74°C).

Common problems
Timer does not ring
Ensure you have performed the full clockwise rotation before setting the desired time, as this winds the internal spring.
Timer casing is damaged
