Quick guide from the manual

The Acurite 00665DIX is a digital instant-read thermometer designed for food safety. This guide covers the essential steps for battery installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure accurate readings and device longevity.

Battery installation

The device requires one standard AAA alkaline battery (not included). Heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries are not recommended. To install: locate the slot on the edge of the back cover, gently pry it open, insert the battery, and replace the cover.

Operation

  1. Press the POWER button to turn the unit on.
  2. Use the °F/°C button to select your preferred temperature scale.
  3. Flip the probe open completely.
  4. Insert the probe into the thickest part of the meat or fowl near the end of the cooking time. Ensure the tip does not touch bone, gristle, the pan, or hollow cavities.
  5. Wait 5-10 seconds for the numbers to stop moving to obtain an accurate reading.

Stable temperature alerts

The thermometer will beep when a stable temperature is detected based on the following conditions: the temperature must be rising at a rate of at least +3.3°C in 3 seconds, the temperature must be above 48.8°C, and the reading must remain stable within 1.1°C for 2 seconds. The beep resets automatically after the temperature drops 8.3°C from the high mark.

Cleaning and maintenance

Wash the probe with hot, soapy water after each use to prevent cross-contamination. The housing and display area are NOT waterproof. Do not submerge the unit in water or place it in a dishwasher. Wipe the housing with a soft, damp cloth, using a very small amount of dish soap if degreasing is necessary.

Auto-off feature

To conserve battery life, the thermometer will automatically turn off after one hour of inactivity.
