Quick guide from the manual

This document provides instructions for the AcuRite Solar Window Thermometer (models 00797/00797SBDI). The device features a solar panel to extend battery life, a digital clock, and 24-hour high/low temperature tracking. For the most accurate readings, mount the unit in a location out of direct sunlight.

Power On

The thermometer comes with a pre-installed CR-2032 battery. To activate the device, open the top cover and remove the plastic insulator tab. Note that initial readings may be temporarily elevated due to body heat during handling.

Placement

The unit is designed to be mounted on a window using the included suction cup. For optimal adhesion, clean the glass surface thoroughly before application. Moisten the suction cup slightly before pressing it onto the surface. Note that suction cups may lose adhesion in extremely cold temperatures.

Set the Time

  1. Open the top cover.
  2. Press and release the SET button to toggle between 12 or 24-hour format.
  3. Press and hold the SET button until the hour digits flash.
  4. Use the UP button to adjust the hour, ensuring the correct AM/PM indicator is selected.
  5. Press the SET button to save your settings.

Using the Thermometer

To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), open the top cover and press the UP button. The display automatically tracks high and low temperatures over a 24-hour period. To manually reset these records, press and hold the UP button for 3-5 seconds.

Battery Replacement

When the battery requires replacement, open the top cover and remove the old CR-2032 battery. Insert a new CR-2032 battery, ensuring the polarity (+/-) matches the diagram inside the compartment. Dispose of used batteries according to local environmental regulations.

Specifications

  • Temperature Range: -13°F to 122°F (-25°C to 50°C)
  • Battery: 1 x CR-2032 (included)
