This quick start guide outlines the initial setup process for the AcuRite 08550W Weather Alert Radio. Follow these steps to prepare your device for operation:

1. Remove belt clip: Release the clip to access the battery compartment.
2. Insert batteries: Install the required batteries into the compartment.
3. Silence the device: Press the LISTEN button to silence any initial alerts.
4. Access menu: Press the MENU button to begin configuration.
5. Quick Setup: Navigate to the Quick Setup option.
6. Enter FIPS code: Input your local FIPS code. If you do not know your code, contact the National Weather Service at 1-888-697-7263 or visit www.weather.gov/nwr/indexnw.htm#sametable.
