Safety Warning: This fixture emits high-intensity ultraviolet light. Avoid direct eye and skin exposure. Wear proper eye and skin protection. Do not look directly into the light source, as it poses a risk of retina injury or blindness. Avoid wearing white clothing or using UV paints on the skin when near the fixture.

Installation Guidelines

The fixture is designed for temporary outdoor use. It must be installed by qualified personnel following all local and national electrical codes.

  • Mounting: The unit can be mounted hanging upside-down from trussing, sideways on trussing, or set on a flat, stable surface.
  • Safety Cable: Always secure the fixture with an appropriately rated safety cable when installing in a suspended environment. The safety cable must be able to hold 10 times the weight of the fixture.
  • Environment: Do not install in maritime or coastal environments (within 5 miles of the coast) as salt-water and humidity can cause corrosion.
  • Temperature: The ambient operating temperature range is -22°F to 113°F (-30°C to 45°C).

Control Panel and System Menu

The unit features an OLED display with a 4-button touch menu. Press the MODE button to cycle through menu options, ENTER to select, and UP/DOWN to adjust settings.

Key Settings:

  • DMX Settings: Configure DMX address (001-512) and channel mode (1, 2, 3, or 6 channels).
  • Personality: Set Primary/Secondary mode, adjust Dim Curves (Square, Linear, Inv. Curve, S-Curve), and set LED Refresh Rate (900Hz-25kHz).
  • Service: Includes options for factory restore and output calibration.

DMX Setup

The fixture uses standard 5-pin XLR connectors for DMX input and output. For long cable runs, use a terminator (110-120 ohm resistor) on the last unit in the chain to prevent erratic behavior. Ensure cables are daisy-chained and not split.

Primary-Secondary and Power Linking

Multiple units can be linked for synchronized operation:

  • Primary-Secondary: Daisy chain units via XLR cables. Set one unit as 'Primary' and others as 'Secondary' in the System Menu. All units must be set to the same DMX channel mode.
  • Power Linking: You can link up to 2 units when running on 120V power, or up to 4 units when running on 230V power. Do not exceed these limits.

Maintenance and IP65 Integrity

Regular maintenance is required to ensure the longevity of the fixture and maintain its IP65 rating.

  • Cleaning: Clean the external lens surface regularly with a soft cloth. Never use alcohol, solvents, or ammonia-based cleaners.
  • Exterior Maintenance: Inspect every 30 days. Check optics, chassis, and power/data lines for corrosion. Reapply di-electric grease to connectors annually.
  • Interior Maintenance: Inspect every 30 days. Check zoom/focus mechanisms, belts, fans, and CMY modules.
  • Torque Settings: When reassembling, screws must be tightened to 11.3 ± 0.4 Lb-in (13.0 ± 0.5 Kg-cm) to maintain the IP65 seal.
  • IP Testing: Always perform an IP pressure test after any repair or maintenance that requires disassembly.

Common problems

Fixture not powering on

Check power connection and ensure the fuse is intact.

DMX signal loss or erratic behavior

Ensure DMX cables are not split, are properly daisy-chained, and the last unit is terminated.

Fogging or condensation inside the lens

Position the unit with the air valve pointing upwards, open the valve, and run the unit for 1-2 hours to de-humidify.

Before use

  • Inspect the shipping carton for damage.
  • Verify the mounting surface can support 10 times the fixture's weight.
  • Attach a safety cable for all suspended installations.
  • Ensure ambient temperature is between -30°C and 45°C.
  • Use IP65-rated data and power cables for outdoor use.
