This coffee maker is designed for household use. Before first use, clean the carafe and filter holder in hot, sudsy water and run two full cycles of tap water through the machine without coffee grounds. Always ensure the water level is between the MIN and MAX lines before brewing.

Getting to Know Your Coffee Maker

The machine features a control panel with buttons for Program, Strength, Keep Warm, Hour, Minute, and Brew/Off. It includes a permanent coffee filter, a removable filter holder, and a glass carafe with a lid. The pause and serve valve allows you to pour a cup of coffee mid-brew.

Setting Up and Brewing

To brew coffee:

1. Lift the lid and fill the reservoir with cold water.
2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
3. Insert the permanent filter into the filter holder and add ground coffee (measure 2 level tablespoons or 1 scoop per cup).
4. Lower the filter holder and close the lid.
5. Plug in the unit and press the ON/OFF button to start the brew cycle.

Brew Strength Selection: Press the Strength button to cycle through options: Regular (1 press), Gourmet (2 presses), Bold (3 presses), or 1-4 Cup mode (4 presses).

Programming and Features

• Setting the Clock: When plugged in, the display flashes 12:00 AM. Use the Hour and Minute buttons to set the time, then press Program to confirm.
• Auto Start: Press the Program button, set the desired time using the clock setting method, and press Program again to confirm. The unit will automatically start at the set time.
• Keep Warm Mode: Press the Keep Warm button to adjust the warming time (default is 2 hours, adjustable up to 4 hours in 30-minute increments).
• Pause and Serve: You can remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. Ensure the carafe is replaced within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular Cleaning: After every use, discard used grounds and rinse the filter holder and carafe. The permanent filter and filter holder are top-rack dishwasher safe.

Auto Clean and Descaling: Clean the machine at least once a month (or every 2 weeks for hard water). Combine 6 cups of white vinegar and 4 cups of cold water in the carafe, pour into the reservoir, and run the cleaning cycle. For descaling, use a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts cold water and follow the brewing process, allowing the solution to cycle through.

Storing Instructions

Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before storing in a cool, dry place. Never store the unit while it is still plugged in.
