The DigiTech Whammy DT is a pitch-shifting pedal offering both classic Whammy effects and Drop/Raised tuning. To get started, connect your instrument to the Input Jack and your amplifier or distortion pedal to the Output Jack. Use the Whammy and Drop Tune footswitches to enable effects, and use the corresponding knobs to select the desired settings. The expression pedal controls the pitch bending amount for the selected effect.

Controls and Connections
The pedal features two main sections: the Whammy/Harmony/Detune section on the left and the Drop Tune section on the right. The rear panel includes the Power Input, Output Jack, MIDI Input, Footswitch Input, and Instrument Input. Always use the provided power supply.

Using Effects

- Whammy Effects: Bends the input signal up or down (e.g., 2 Octave Up, Dive Bomb).
- Harmony Effects: Adds a harmony note to your signal, mixing both together.
- Detune Effects: Creates a detuned copy of your signal and mixes it with the dry signal.
- Drop Tune Effects: Allows for instant polyphonic re-tuning (Shift Up or Shift Down) by up to one octave.
Advanced Features
MIDI Functions
The Whammy DT supports MIDI for remote effect selection and expression pedal control. To change the MIDI channel, disconnect power, hold the WHAMMY Effect Footswitch while reconnecting power, and rotate the Whammy Effect Knob to select the channel.
Bypass Modes
You can choose between True Bypass and DSP Bypass. To switch modes, disconnect power, hold the MOMENTARY footswitch, and apply power. The Drop Tune LED will flash red for True Bypass or green for DSP Bypass.
Expression Pedal Calibration
If the pedal does not respond correctly, perform a calibration: Disconnect power, hold the WHAMMY Effect Footswitch while reconnecting power, rock the expression pedal fully forward, press the DROP TUNE footswitch, and follow the LED prompts to calibrate.
FS3X Footswitch
An optional FS3X footswitch can be connected to the Footswitch Input for hands-free effect selection. Use a 1/4 inch TRS cable for this connection.
