The Draper 150kg Log Stand is a manually operated saw horse designed for the efficient and safe sawing of logs and branches. It is suitable for home/DIY use or by professional arborists. Always ensure the ground is firm and level before use. Never use the stand on sloping or uneven ground.   1. Ensure the ground is firm and level.
  2. With the log stand lying on the ground, lift the log support frame into the vertical position (Fig. 1).
  3. Rotate the diagonal braces from their stored position (Fig. 2).
  4. Fit the holes in the ends of the braces over the pins on the inside of the forward part of the base (Fig. 3).

  1. Insert the log through the teeth until approximately 1/3 of the log length is forward of the log support frame (Fig. 4).
  2. Angle the log so the short end is slightly lower than the rear.
  3. Rest the log on the lower teeth on the cross bar and slowly release the weight so the upper teeth engage with the log (Fig. 5).
  4. The log should be approximately horizontal with 1/3 of its length forward of the support frame.
  5. Begin by cutting the initial few logs from the long overhanging end.
  6. Cut successive logs to maintain the ratio of approximately 1/3 of the remaining length forward and 2/3 behind (Fig. 6).

Safety Guidelines

  • Warning: Always cut in a downward direction. Never cut in an upward direction.
  • Warning: Check that the log is secure and the stand is stable before cutting.
  • Warning: Do not press down on the long overhanging end of the log, as this may damage the stand.
  • Keep bystanders, children, and onlookers away from the work area.
  • Keep the work area tidy and clear of obstructions.

Maintenance and Storage

The log stand is load-bearing; routinely check all fixings and the overall condition of the steel work. Do not use the stand if it exhibits signs of fatigue or wear. Store in a dry location when not in use to prevent rusting.

Disposal

At the end of the product's working life, dispose of it according to national regulations. Do not dispose of in domestic waste, do not incinerate, and do not abandon in the environment.
