The Dualit EcoPress is designed to simplify the recycling of used aluminium coffee capsules. It separates the coffee grounds from the aluminium, allowing you to recycle the capsule and compost the grounds. The device is simple to operate and dishwasher safe.
Getting to know your EcoPress
The device consists of three main parts:
- Pusher: The top component used to apply pressure to the capsule.
- Lid: The middle component featuring a hole where the capsule is placed.
- Bucket: The bottom container that collects the used coffee grounds.
How to use the EcoPress
- Place the EcoPress bucket on a flat, stable surface.
- Line up the markings on the lid and the bucket, then twist to lock them in place.
- Place the used aluminium coffee capsule, foil side down, over the hole on the lid.
- Place the pusher over the bucket and apply downward pressure with both hands.
- Lift the pusher and remove the capsule.
- Rinse off the remaining coffee grounds from the aluminium capsule.
Cleaning and maintenance
The EcoPress is suitable for the top rack of the dishwasher, provided it is used on a sub 40 degree wash cycle. The bucket is designed to hold the coffee grounds of up to 10 aluminium coffee capsules before needing to be emptied.
Important safety warnings
- Usage: Only suitable for use with used aluminium coffee capsules.
- Temperature: Allow capsules to cool completely before using the EcoPress, as they will be hot immediately after extraction.
- Disposal: Coffee grounds can be home composted, placed in a food waste bin, or general waste bin.

Capsule is too hot to handle
Allow capsules to cool completely after extraction before attempting to use the EcoPress.
Coffee grounds remain in the capsule
After pressing, rinse off the remaining coffee grounds from the aluminium capsule.
