The Elation Professional KL FRESNEL 6 is a professional LED lighting fixture. Before operation, ensure you have read the safety guidelines. The fixture supports manual dimming and various DMX control modes. Always ensure the fixture is properly grounded and installed by qualified personnel.

Safety Guidelines

  • Protection Class 1: Fixture must be properly grounded.
  • No User Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt repairs yourself; this voids the warranty.
  • Heat Warning: Never touch the fixture during operation as it may be hot. Allow 15 minutes to cool before servicing.
  • Environment: Indoor/dry locations use only. Do not expose to rain or moisture.
  • Ventilation: Do not block air ventilation slots. Allow 6 inches (15cm) of clearance for cooling.
  • Eye Safety: Never look directly into the light source.
  • Dimmer Packs: Do not plug the fixture into a dimmer pack.

Installation

The fixture must be installed following all local and national electrical codes. When rigging in a suspended environment, always use an appropriately rated safety cable.

Barn Door and Gel Frame Installation

  1. Lift the lock on top of the fixture.
  2. Insert the Gel Frame into the first (smaller) slot.
  3. Insert the Barn Door into the second (larger) slot.
  4. Lower the lock to secure both accessories.
  5. Attach the mini safety cable to the Barn Door and the top lock.

System Menu

The fixture features an OLED control menu. Press the MODE button to access the main menu. Use UP and DOWN to navigate, and ENTER to select and confirm settings. If the display is locked, press and hold MODE for 3 seconds.

Manual Dimming Control

To use the manual dimming knob, you must disconnect any connected DMX cables.

  1. Navigate to the Test menu, then select ManCtrl.
  2. Set the Strobe value to 255 (LED ON).
  3. Exit the menu.
  4. Push the DIMMING knob to unlock, rotate to the desired level, and push again to lock.

DMX Channel Functions

The fixture supports multiple DMX channel modes (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 channels). These modes allow control over dimmer intensity, fine dimming, shutter/strobe effects, and dimmer curves. Refer to the DMX channel tables in the full manual for specific values.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the external lens surface at least every 20 days with a soft cloth. Never use alcohol, solvents, or ammonia-based cleaners.
  • Inspections: Perform a detailed electric check by an approved electrical engineer every three months. Ensure all screws and fasteners are securely tightened.
