The Fiamma Carry-Bike is designed for VW T5 and T6 vehicles. Before installation, ensure the vehicle wall or rear door is sufficiently solid to support the carrier. Important: When tightening the fork to the tube, leave a 2mm space; do not fully tighten. The maximum load capacity is 60kg, and it can carry up to 4 bikes. The tailgate can be opened when the carrier is mounted, but only if no bikes are loaded.

Package contents

The package includes the main structure, mounting brackets, and necessary hardware (screws, bolts, washers). Verify all parts are present and undamaged before starting the installation. Refer to the parts diagram on page 2 for identification of components A through Z1.

Installation

Installation should be performed by qualified personnel in compliance with local regulations. Follow these steps:

• Assemble the main structure using the provided hardware.
• Mount the upper brackets to the vehicle.
• Attach the lower brackets by pulling down the structure to ensure a steady fastening.
• Ensure all screws and brackets are tightened securely before closing the rear door.
• Verify that the carrier does not touch the vehicle roof or hinges.

Usage and safety

Follow these guidelines for safe operation:

• Weight distribution: Load the heaviest bikes closest to the vehicle wall to ensure stability.
• Driving: Be aware of the carrier's presence, especially when reversing. Use additional rear-view mirrors if rear visibility is limited.
• Speed: Comply with speed limits and adjust speed according to traffic conditions and load.
• Bike covers: The use of bike covers (Bike Cover) is not allowed on this model.
• Rear wiper: Check the wiper radius before operating the rear windscreen wiper, as bikes may interfere with its function.
• Accessories: Remove accessories like child seats or baskets from bikes before transport, as vibrations may cause them to detach.

Maintenance

Periodically check the bicycle rack to ensure it remains firmly attached, especially after the first few kilometers and before/after long trips. Inspect rubber parts under the brackets and straps for signs of wear or porosity. Replace any worn components immediately.
