The Fiamma Carry-Bike VW T6 PRO is designed for mounting on the tailgate of Volkswagen T5, T6, and T6.1 vehicles. Before installation, ensure the vehicle is compatible and that the tailgate is clean. It is highly recommended that the installation is performed by qualified personnel to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations. Always verify that the carrier is firmly attached before use and periodically check the fastenings, especially after the first few kilometers and after long trips.

Package contents

The package includes the main structure, mounting brackets, and necessary hardware (screws, nuts, washers). Refer to the exploded view on page 2 of the manual to identify all components (A through Y) before beginning assembly.

Installation

Follow these steps to install the carrier:

• Step 1: Prepare the upper brackets (B, C) and attach them to the main structure (A) using the provided hardware (P, T, Q). Ensure left and right orientation is correct.
• Step 2: Attach the upper support bar (G) to the structure using components H, I, L, and P.
• Step 3: Apply the protective pads (N, N2) to the upper brackets.
• Step 4-5: Clean the vehicle surface and position the carrier on the tailgate.
• Step 6-7: Secure the upper brackets to the vehicle.
• Step 8-9: Fix the lower brackets by pulling down the structure to ensure a tight fit. Do not fully undo the screws during adjustment.
• Step 10: Close the tailgate and verify the alignment of the brackets.
• Step 11: Check that the brackets are correctly aligned with the tailgate.
• Step 12-13: Attach the rail support (F) and remaining accessories (M).

Usage and safety

Adhere to the following usage guidelines:

• Weight Limits: The maximum load is 60kg. You can carry up to 4 standard bikes (15kg each) or 2 E-bikes (25kg each).
• Weight Distribution: Distribute weight uniformly, placing the heaviest bikes closest to the vehicle wall.
• Safety: Always use a signal for protruding loads if required by local law. If rear visibility is limited, use additional rear-view mirrors.
• Driving: Be aware of the carrier's presence, especially when reversing. Do not exceed speed limits.
• Tailgate Operation: You can open the tailgate with the carrier mounted, but only when it is empty (no bikes).

Special warnings for electric tailgates

For models with electric tailgates, contact your VW dealer before assembly. The gas pistons may need to be checked for wear or replaced with stronger ones to support the weight of the carrier and bikes. Ensure the lower brackets are correctly adhered to prevent damage to the rear lights during automatic closure.

Maintenance

Regularly inspect the carrier for any signs of wear or damage. Check that belts are not loose and that holding brackets have not shifted. Replace any worn components immediately. Do not use bike covers with this model.
