Quick guide from the manual
The Fiamma Carry-Bike Mercedes V Class Premium is designed for transporting bicycles on the rear of the vehicle. Before installation, ensure the vehicle is compatible and that the rear door or wall is sufficiently solid to support the carrier. The maximum load capacity is 60 kg, with a maximum of 4 bikes allowed. The maximum weight per bike is 15 kg. Always ensure the heaviest bike is placed closest to the vehicle for stability. Note that bike covers are not permitted on this model.
Package contents
The package includes various structural tubes, rails, and mounting hardware. Refer to the exploded view diagram on page 2 to identify all components (A through W) before beginning assembly. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged before starting.
Installation
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Follow the steps 1 through 18 carefully. A critical step is during the assembly of the fork to the tube (Step 5): do not fully tighten the fork to the tube; leave a 2 mm space. Ensure all screws are properly tightened to a maximum of 1.5 Nm as indicated in step 16. During installation, be careful not to close the rear door if the screws of the lower bar are not tightened, as this could damage the vehicle body.
Usage and safety
Always comply with speed limits and traffic regulations. When driving with the carrier, be aware of the increased length and weight of the vehicle. If rear visibility is limited, use additional rear-view mirrors. Always signal the presence of the carrier with a warning sign for protruding loads. When opening the tailgate, ensure the carrier structure or bike blocks do not interfere with the vehicle roof or opening systems. The tailgate can be opened with the carrier mounted, provided no bikes are loaded. It is recommended to rotate the handlebars of the bicycles to avoid damage to the vehicle wall.
Maintenance
Periodically check the bicycle rack to ensure it is firmly attached, especially after the first few kilometers and before/after long trips. Regularly inspect the rubber parts under the upper and lower brackets, as well as the straps. Replace any worn or porous components immediately.
Accessories
Various accessories are available for the Carry-Bike, including different rail types (Rail Premium, Rail Premium S, Rail Premium XL, Rail Premium S Fat Bike), Bike-Block Pro S, and a licence plate carrier for the lower version.
