The Fiamma Carry-Bike Frame Crafter E-Bike is designed specifically for the VW Crafter. Important: This model is only suitable for installation on the right rear door and is not compatible with vehicles equipped with a 270° hinge system. Installation should be carried out by qualified personnel in compliance with local regulations.

Installation and mounting

The installation process involves multiple steps requiring drilling and precise assembly of brackets and rails. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged before starting.

• Preparation: Verify vehicle compatibility and ensure the rear door is solid enough to support the carrier.
• Assembly: Follow the step-by-step diagrams provided in the manual (pages 6-17).
• Fork Adjustment: When tightening the fork to the tube, do not fully tighten; leave a 2mm space as shown in the warning on page 18.
• Final Checks: After installation, tighten all screws and ensure the rear door opens and closes correctly without obstruction.

Usage and safety

To ensure safe transport of your bicycles, follow these guidelines:

• Weight Distribution: Load the heaviest bikes closest to the vehicle wall to maintain stability.
• E-Bikes: It is strongly recommended to remove batteries from e-bikes before loading them onto the carrier.
• Handlebars: Rotate bicycle handlebars to prevent damage to the vehicle wall.
• Accessories: Do not leave accessories like child seats or baskets attached to the bikes, as vibrations may cause them to detach.
• Bike Covers: The use of bike covers is not permitted with this model.
• Driving: Always be aware of the carrier's presence, especially when reversing. Comply with speed limits and traffic regulations.

Maintenance and checks

Regular maintenance is essential for safety:

• Periodic Inspection: Check the carrier's attachment points, especially after the first few kilometers and before/after long trips.
• Components: Regularly inspect rubber parts under the brackets and all straps. Replace them immediately if they show signs of wear, porosity, or damage.
• Cleaning: Keep the carrier clean and free of debris.
