Quick guide from the manual

The Fiamma Carry-Bike Caravan Hobby is designed for transporting bicycles on the rear of a caravan. Before installation, ensure the vehicle wall or door is sufficiently solid to support the anchoring points. Crucial safety note: When tightening the fork to the tube during assembly, you must leave a 2mm space; do not fully tighten it. Always distribute weight evenly, placing the heaviest bikes closest to the vehicle wall to ensure stability.

Assembly and Installation

The installation requires drilling and should be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure you have all parts listed in the package contents before starting.

Mounting the Rack

  1. Step 1: Prepare the upper mounting points. Use a 4mm drill bit to create holes for the brackets (B) and secure them using the provided screws (S).
  2. Step 2: Prepare the lower mounting points. Use a 5.5mm drill bit to create holes for the lower brackets (G/H) and secure them using the provided hardware (O, K, R, P, F).
  3. Steps 3-5: Assemble the main frame structure (A, C, D) and secure the joints using the provided bolts (U), washers (T), and nuts (K, Z).
  4. Steps 6-7: Attach the bike rail structure (I) to the main frame using the provided hardware (V, T, Z, K).
  5. Step 8:Important: When attaching the fork to the tube, do not fully tighten. Leave a 2mm gap on both sides.
  6. Step 9: Mount the assembled rack onto the vehicle's pre-installed brackets.
  7. Step 10: Install the bike block holders (L, M, N) and adjust them to fit your bicycle frames.

Usage and Loading

Always load the bicycles with the heaviest bikes closest to the vehicle wall. Ensure the load is uniformly distributed and does not exceed the maximum width of the vehicle. The maximum load capacity is 50 kg, with a maximum of 3 bicycles.

Safety and Maintenance

  • Periodic Checks: Regularly check the rack's attachment, especially after the first few kilometers following installation and before/after long trips.
  • Rubber Parts: Inspect rubber components under the brackets and the straps. Replace them immediately if they show signs of porosity or wear.
  • Driving: Always comply with speed limits and traffic regulations. If rear visibility is reduced, use additional rear-view mirrors. Be cautious when reversing, especially if the vehicle has parking sensors.
  • Weight Distribution: Never exceed the maximum permissible axle load of your vehicle.
