Use a signal for protruding loads if required. If rear visibility is limited, use additional rear-view mirrors. Be cautious when reversing, especially if the vehicle has parking sensors.

Check the bicycle rack periodically to ensure it is firmly attached, especially after the first few kilometers and before/after long trips.
