This manual provides essential instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Furrion 12V Horizontal RV Range Hood. Always ensure the power is disconnected before performing any installation or maintenance tasks. The unit is designed for 12V DC operation and must be installed by qualified personnel in accordance with local codes.

Installation

Before installing, ensure the location is away from strong drafts (windows, doors, heating vents). The installation must comply with NFPA 1192 standards for recreational vehicles.

Electrical Requirements

  • Ensure the electrical installation conforms to National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70) or CSA Standards C22.1-94.
  • Connect the vent hood white wire to the incoming power supply negative (-) wire.
  • Connect the vent hood black wire to the incoming power supply positive (+) wire.

Mounting

  1. Mark the centerline of the range hood on the wall.
  2. Cut a through-hole in the wall according to the dimensions provided in the manual (Fig. 3).
  3. Insert the vent collar at the back of the range hood into the cutout area.
  4. Fix the range hood onto the top cabinet using the four provided screws. Do not overtighten.
  5. Replace the grill cover and press the release tabs until you hear a click.

Operation

The range hood features simple controls for the fan and light:

  • Fan Control: Press the fan button once to turn on the fan, and press twice to turn it off.
  • Light Control: Press the light button once to turn on the light, and press twice to turn it off.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular maintenance is critical to prevent fire hazards caused by grease buildup.

External Cleaning

Wipe the range hood frequently with warm soapy water and a mild detergent. Do not use scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, or excessive water, especially near the control panel.

Filter Cleaning and Replacement

  • Metal Holder: Clean approximately once a month (or more often if used >3 hours/day). Remove by pressing the two locking latches and pulling downward. Wash by hand in mild soapy water; do not use a dishwasher.
  • Charcoal Filter: This filter cannot be cleaned. Replace it approximately every three months, or more frequently if the hood is used for more than three hours per day.
