The GARDENA Master Unit 1000 (Art. 1355) is a central component of the Micro-Drip-System. Its primary function is to reduce water pressure from the supply source to a constant operating pressure of approximately 1.5 bar, ensuring the system operates safely and efficiently. This unit also acts as a connection point for both 13 mm (1/2") connecting pipes and 4.6 mm (3/16") supply pipes.
Maintenance and Winterization
To ensure the longevity of your system, follow these maintenance steps:
- Filter Cleaning: The internal filter should be cleaned regularly. If the water is hard, you may need to descale the filter using a standard household descaling solution.
- Winter Storage: Before the first frost, you must disconnect the Master Unit. Drain the water completely, clean the unit, and store it in a frost-free location to prevent damage.
Installation and Connection
The Master Unit can be installed at the beginning of your irrigation line or in the middle, depending on your layout requirements.
- Connection Options: The unit features specific connection pieces for both 13 mm (1/2") connecting pipes and 4.6 mm (3/16") supply pipes.
- Middle Connection: If you connect the Master Unit in the middle of a 13 mm pipe, the water flow is distributed to both the left and right sides. This can affect the total number of sprinklers or drip heads you can connect.

The number of sprinklers or drip heads you can connect depends on the specific model of the sprinkler/drip head and the pipe type used. Always refer to the capacity table provided in the manual to ensure you do not exceed the flow rate limits.
