This guide provides essential steps for installing your Golden Lighting 1084-5FM flush mount fixture. Always ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker before beginning any electrical work. Installation should be performed by an accredited professional.
Installation Preparation
Before starting, ensure you have all parts from the yellow bag. Remove the old fixture and mounting strap from the wall.

- Attach the mounting strap (A) to the junction box using the mounting screws (F).
- Ensure the nipple (D) is attached to the mounting strap (A) with the washer (B) and hex nut (C).
- Adjust the nipple (D) so about half of the exterior threads are exposed to allow the finial (H) to fit snugly.
Wiring Instructions
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight during this step.

- Hot Wire: Connect the fixture's smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread to the house's hot wire.
- Neutral Wire: Connect the fixture's ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread to the house's neutral wire.
- Ground Wire: Connect the fixture's copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread to the house's ground wire. If no house ground wire exists, wrap the fixture's ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket.
Finishing Installation
- Raise the ceiling pan (G) up to the mounting strap (A), aligning the nipple (D) through the center hole.
- Secure the ceiling pan (G) by threading the finial (H) onto the exposed threads of the nipple (D).
- Adjust the shade until it hangs straight.
- Install the appropriate light bulbs (not provided) into the sockets (J), ensuring you do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage.
- Turn on the power and test the fixture.
Lighting Placement Tips
For optimal lighting, consider the following:
- Kitchen Islands: Center linear pendants over the island. Use one pendant for every 24 inches of island length. Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the countertop.
- Dining Tables: Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the table. Use a fixture that is 12 inches narrower than the width of the table.
- Open Areas: The bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor.
