This document provides installation instructions for the Golden Lighting 1088-SF ceiling fixture. Installation should be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the fuse or circuit breaker before beginning. Ensure you use only the specified bulb wattage.
Preparing for installation
Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and locate the mounting strap (B) assembly. Ensure the mounting strap matches the spacing of the holes on your junction box. Secure the mounting strap (B) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (D). Test the canopy (F) against the strap to ensure the mounting screws (A) are positioned correctly, then tighten the nuts (C) to hold them in place.
Wiring the fixture
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight during wiring. Connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires using wire connectors:

- Hot to Hot: Connect the fixture's smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread to the house's hot wire.
- Neutral to Neutral: Connect the fixture's ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread to the house's neutral wire.
- Ground to Ground: Connect the fixture's copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread to the house's ground wire.
If there is no house ground wire, wrap the fixture's ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and tighten securely.
Finishing the installation
Lift the canopy (F) over the mounting strap (B) and secure it using the deco nuts (G) until snug against the ceiling. Carefully place the glass shade (I) over the socket (H) and secure it with the socket ring (J). Install the appropriate light bulb (not included) and restore power to test the fixture.

Lighting placement tips
For optimal lighting, follow these guidelines:
- Kitchen Island: Center linear pendants over the island. Use one pendant for every 24 inches of island length. Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the countertop.
- Dining Room Table: Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the table. Use a fixture that is 12 inches narrower than the table width.
- Open Areas: The bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor. Ensure clearance for any opening doors.
