This document provides instructions for installing the Golden Lighting 1945-SF 4-Light Semi-Flush Ceiling Fixture. Before beginning, ensure the power is shut off at the circuit breaker. Installation should be performed by an accredited professional. Always use the specified bulbs and do not exceed the maximum wattage.
Installation Preparation
Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and locate the yellow bag containing all parts. Ensure you have the mounting strap (B) and the necessary mounting screws (A & C).

- Shut off power at the circuit breaker.
- Remove the old fixture and the old mounting strap.
- Attach the mounting strap (B) to the junction box using mounting screws (C).
- Test the canopy (F) against the mounting strap to determine how far to insert the mounting screws (A).
- Tighten nuts (D) to secure the mounting screws (A) in place.
Wiring Instructions
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight while completing the wiring. Refer to the wiring diagram to connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires:

- Hot to Hot: Connect the fixture's smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread to the house's hot wire.
- Neutral to Neutral: Connect the fixture's ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread to the house's neutral wire.
- Ground to Ground: Connect the fixture's copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread to the house's ground wire.
- If there is no house ground wire, use the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket to secure the fixture's ground wire.
Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure them with a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction.
Final Assembly and Adjustment
- Lift the canopy (F) up to the mounting strap (B), ensuring the mounting screws (A) protrude through the canopy holes.
- Thread the decorative nuts (G) onto the exposed threads of the mounting screws (A) until the canopy is snug against the ceiling.
- Adjust the angle of the rods (H) using the provided Allen key (J) at the notches near the distributor.
- Unscrew the nut with the Allen key to loosen, adjust the position, and retighten to lock the rods in place.
- Install the light bulbs (not provided) into the sockets (I).
- Turn on the power and test the fixture.
Lighting Placement Tips
For optimal lighting, consider the following guidelines:

- Kitchen Islands: Center a linear pendant over the island. Use one pendant for every 24 inches of island length. Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the countertop.
- Dining Tables: Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the table. Use a fixture that is 12 inches narrower than the width of the table.
- Open Areas: The bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor.
