Proper placement is essential for both aesthetics and functionality. Follow these guidelines for hanging your pendant light:
- Kitchen Island: Center the linear pendant over the island. Use one pendant for every 24 inches of island length. Ensure the fixture hangs at least 30 inches above the countertop.
- Dining Room Table: The fixture should hang at least 30 inches above the table. Use a fixture that is 12 inches narrower than the width of the table.
- Open Areas: The bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor. Ensure there is clearance for any opening doors.
Preparation for Installation
Before starting, ensure you have all necessary tools and that the power is completely shut off at the circuit breaker. Carefully remove the fixture and the yellow parts bag from the carton.
- Remove the old fixture and the old mounting strap from the wall or ceiling.
- Take the mounting strap (B) from the parts bag.
- Attach the two sets of mounting screws (A & C) to the mounting strap (B).
- If necessary, tighten the nuts (D) to hold the mounting screws (A) in place.
- Test the canopy (F) against the mounting strap to determine how far the screws should protrude.
- Secure the mounting strap (B) over the junction box using the mounting screws (C).
Assembling the Fixture
The fixture rods (H) are pre-threaded on the wires but not connected to the fixture body.

- Measure the desired hanging height and determine the number of rods (H) needed.
- Thread the fixture wires through the rods (H) before connecting the rods together and attaching them to the post (I).
- Connect the rods to the swivel post of the canopy (F) and tighten securely with a wrench if needed.
- To shorten the fixture, slide excess rods off the wires and trim the wires, leaving at least 8 to 10 inches for connection.
- Pass the ring frame (K) and glass shade (M) up over the fixture and secure them by threading screws (J) through the frame (K) into the fixture arms (L).
Connecting the Wires
Have an assistant support the weight of the fixture during this step.

- Hot Wire: Connect the fixture's hot wire (smooth, black, or transparent with black inner thread) to the house's hot wire.
- Neutral Wire: Connect the fixture's neutral wire (ribbed, white, or transparent with white inner thread) to the house's neutral wire.
- Ground Wire: Connect the fixture's ground wire (copper, bare metal, green, or transparent with green inner thread) to the house's ground wire.
- If there is no house ground wire, wrap the fixture's ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and tighten.
- Twist wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction. Tuck wires into the junction box.
Finishing the Installation
Once wiring is complete:
- Hold the canopy (F) over the mounting strap (B), aligning the holes.
- Thread the decorative nuts (G) onto the exposed mounting screws (A) until the canopy is snug against the ceiling.
- Slide the candle sleeves (O) over the sockets (P) into the lamp cups (Q).
- Install the specified light bulbs (not included) into the sockets (P). Do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage.
- Turn on the power and test the fixture.

Practical help
Common problems
Adjust the length of the mounting screws (A) on the mounting strap (B) and re-tighten the nuts (D).
Locate the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and wrap the fixture's ground wire around it, then tighten.
Add or remove rods (H) to adjust the hanging height. Ensure wires are trimmed correctly if shortening.
Before use
- Shut off power supply at the fuse or circuit breaker.
- Verify all parts are present in the yellow bag.
- Measure the desired hanging height before assembly.
- Ensure you have an assistant to support the fixture weight during wiring.
- Check that you have the correct bulbs (do not exceed max wattage).
Specs in practice
- Neutral Wire
- Ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread.
