The HiKOKI UB 18DJL is a versatile cordless worklight designed for professional use. This guide provides essential information for safe operation, battery management, and maintenance. Always ensure the switch is in the OFF position before performing any inspection or maintenance.

Safety warnings

• Electrical Shock: Be careful to avoid electrical shock.
• Heat Hazard: The LED cover remains at a high temperature during and immediately after use. Do not touch the cover.
• Fire Prevention: Do not cover the worklight with cloth, cardboard, or other materials while it is on.
• Environment: Do not expose the worklight to rain. Do not leave the unit in a car or area exposed to direct sunlight where temperatures may exceed 50°C.
• Chemicals: Do not allow the worklight to come into contact with gasoline, thinner, or similar solvents.

Product operation

The worklight features multiple modes and adjustable settings:

• Switching Modes: Press the switch to cycle through the modes: Torchlight, Worklight (High), Worklight (Medium), Worklight (Low), and Off.
• Adjusting Light Direction: You can manually move the worklight portion to point the light in the desired direction.
• Hanging Options: The unit includes a slide hook and a strap hook for hanging the light from pipes or other structures.

Battery installation and removal

1. Insertion: Insert the battery into the unit in direction A until it clicks into place.
2. Removal: While holding down the latch, extract the battery in direction B.

Battery protection

When the battery power is low, the protection function will automatically switch the light off to prevent damage:

• Torchlight: The light will dim and then go out.
• Worklight: The light will first switch to single LED illumination, and then go out.

Maintenance and guarantee

If the unit will not be used for a long period, remove the battery. The HiKOKI power tool guarantee covers defects in accordance with statutory/country-specific regulations. It does not cover damage due to misuse, abuse, or normal wear and tear. In case of a complaint, send the undismantled tool with the guarantee certificate to an authorized HiKOKI service center.
