This document provides installation instructions for the Hinkley Dot Family LED button lights (Model 15074SS/15084). These fixtures are designed for 12V power systems. Safety Warning: Always turn off the power supply before beginning installation. If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician.
Mounting options
The fixture can be installed using one of three methods:
- Option 1 (Surface Mount): Requires a 1-inch drill. Suitable for walls with a depth of 1/4 inch or greater.
- Option 2 (Cast in Concrete): Requires cutting 1-inch SCH40 plumbing or drainage PVC pipe to a length of at least 4.5 inches.
- Option 3 (Sleeve Mount): Use the provided extruded PVC sleeve to cast or bury the fixture.
Wiring instructions
- Remove excess wire and use an appropriate tool to strip the outer jacket of the cable.
- Expose the positive (black) and negative (white) lead wires.
- Strip the two wire leads from the luminaire.
- Connect the luminaire leads to the main supply wire using the provided silicone-filled wire nut.
- Note: Silicone-filled wire nuts are for one-time use only.
- Wire nut capacity: Supports 2 pieces of 18 AWG or 2 pieces of 12 AWG wire.
- Place the fixture housing and front cover into the mounting sleeve, PVC sleeve, or wall.
Important notes
Multiple fixtures can be wired to a single transformer or power source. Please refer to the specifications of your power source or transformer to ensure the total load does not exceed the maximum capacity.
