Important Information

This document provides installation instructions for the LeoVince 15248C Slip-On LV-10 Carbon exhaust system. It is designed for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 / Factory and Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 / Factory. Professional installation is highly recommended. Ensure the exhaust system has cooled completely before beginning any work to prevent burns or damage to heat-sensitive components.

Components List

The kit includes the following main components:

  • Silencer (LV-10 Carbon)
  • Link pipe
  • Fitting kit (screws, washers, spacers, brackets)
  • Heat shield

Servomotor cable removal step 1
Servomotor cable removal step 1
  1. Preparation: If present, remove the complete fairing. Remove the original silencer(s).
  2. Valve Cable Removal: Remove the two valve actuation cables. Remove the two fixing screws, then rotate the servomotor 180 degrees to access the non-visible side where the cables are located. Disconnect the connector, remove the cables permanently from the frame, reconnect the connector, and reassemble the servomotor.
  3. Link Pipe Installation: Check that mating surfaces are clean. Slide the link pipe onto the original header, taking care not to damage the graphite bushing (if supplied). Partially tighten the securing strap.
  4. Silencer Installation: Slide the Leovince silencer onto the link pipe. Check the alignment of the mounting eyes for the springs and the exhaust outlet. Connect the parts using the provided springs.
  5. Final Assembly: Fit the clamps to the silencer. Mount spacers, washers, and brackets as shown in the technical drawing. Secure everything by tightening all nuts and bolts.
  6. Testing: Start the engine, wait a few minutes until it reaches operating temperature, and check for any gas leaks.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity of your exhaust system:

  • Break-in Period: During the first kilometers, the exhaust system will settle, and slight gas leakage may occur. After approximately 100 km, check and tighten all fasteners.
  • Cleaning: The silencer may be cleaned using gasoline, diesel oil, or alcohol. Do not use any solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all brackets, fasteners, and rubber parts for wear and replace them if necessary.
  • Discoloration: A change in the color of the silencer is normal due to heat and the nature of the materials used.

Common problems

Slight gas leakage during first use

This is normal during the break-in period. Check and tighten all fasteners after approximately 100 km.

Discoloration of the silencer

This is a normal result of heat and material properties and is not a defect.

Before use

  • Ensure the engine and exhaust system are completely cool.
  • Verify all components from the list are present.
  • Have necessary tools ready for fairing and servomotor removal.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in standard trim.

Images and diagrams

  • The technical drawing shows the assembly order of the silencer, link pipe, and mounting hardware.
  • Photos illustrate the specific process for removing valve actuation cables from the servomotor.
