The Sealey BSCU170 is a microprocessor-controlled unit designed for 12V batteries (12 Ah to 111 Ah). It functions as both a battery charger and a power supply for vehicle ECU reprogramming. Key operational requirements include ensuring proper ventilation, checking battery polarity before connection, and using the correct charging mode (Automatic, Manual, or Flash Reprogramming). Always ensure the battery is 12V before use.
Safety Precautions
- Explosion Risk: Batteries generate explosive gases. Keep away from flames, sparks, and heat sources.
- Ventilation: Always use in a well-ventilated area.
- Personal Protection: Wear safety eye protection and protective clothing. Keep fresh water and soap nearby in case of acid contact.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the charger is connected to a properly grounded outlet. Do not use if cables or clamps are damaged.
- Vehicle Electronics: Check with the vehicle manufacturer before using this equipment on modern vehicles with extensive electronic systems.
Control Panel Overview
The control panel features a digital display and several LEDs to indicate status:

- LEDs: Connected (yellow/orange), Charging (yellow/orange), Charged (green).
