Table of contents

Quick guide from the manual

This heater is designed for use with kerosene or diesel fuel. It requires proper ventilation for indoor use and must be placed on a flat, non-flammable surface. Before operation, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the power supply is correct (230V~50Hz), and the air inlet/outlet are unobstructed. Always allow the heater to complete its cooling sequence before unplugging.

Safety instructions

Electrical Safety: Ensure the voltage matches the power supply. The heater should be connected to a fused isolator switch or a plug with the correct fuse rating. Do not use damaged cables or plugs.

General Safety:

  • Only use clean kerosene or diesel (NOT BIO-DIESEL).
  • Use only in well-ventilated areas to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • Keep away from flammable materials, curtains, and chemicals.
  • Do not use in closed rooms, living areas, basements, or below ground level.
  • Do not move or handle the heater while hot.
  • Do not obstruct air inlet or outlet.
  • Do not leave unattended while in use.

Assembly

For AB350/AB708.V3: Attach the plastic handle to the unit.

For AB7081.V3:

  1. Insert the wheel shaft into the caster fixing plate.
  2. Secure with the cotter pin.
  3. Fit plain washers to both sides of the shaft and slide the wheels over the shaft.
  4. Screw the nut to fix the wheel.
  5. Install the wheel cover.
  6. Use the clamping screw and plain washer to install the handle to the caster fixing plate.

Installation

Position the heater on a flat, level, non-flammable, solid surface. For indoor use, provide permanent ventilation openings of at least 25 cm²/kW, equally distributed between floor and high level, with a minimum of 250 cm². Do not place the heater near walls, corners, low ceilings, or below a socket outlet.

Operation

Start-up: Fill the tank with clean fuel. Connect to a 230V~50Hz earthed supply. Push the power switch to the ON (I) position. The default temperature is 20°C. If the ambient temperature is lower, the heater will start after 7 seconds.

Cold Start: At low temperatures, keep the air vent hole closed with a finger during ignition to assist starting.

Shut Down: Move the switch to the OFF (O) position. Allow the cooling sequence to complete before unplugging.

Manual Reset: If the heater is in lock-out mode, turn the switch to 0 and then back to I to reset.

Cleaning and maintenance

Maintenance should be performed by qualified personnel only. Before maintenance, shut down, unplug, and let the heater cool for at least 15 minutes.

  • Nozzle: Unscrew and blow compressed air through the orifice to clean.
  • Air Filters: Remove the filter end cover, wash the air intake filter with light detergent, and dry thoroughly. Replace the air delivery filter once a year.
  • Ignition Electrodes: Clean and check the gap as specified in the manual.
  • Compressor Pressure: Factory set. If adjustment is required, remove the pressure gauge cap, connect a gauge, and turn the adjusting screw (clockwise to increase, anticlockwise to decrease).

Troubleshooting

If the heater fails to start or locks out (E1/E2 codes):

  • Motor does not start: Check power supply, voltage, and mains cable.
  • E1 Code: Often indicates overheating, flame failure, or bad combustion. Check air inlet/outlet, fuel quality, and fuel filter.
  • E2 Code: Indicates a faulty temperature probe or loose connection.
  • LC Code: Indicates 3 failed ignition attempts. Unlock by switching the power switch to ON 3 times within 10 seconds.

Common problems

Motor does not start

Check power line, voltage, and mains cable. Ensure the unit is not locked out due to previous overheating.

Heater locks out (E1 displayed)

Check for flame failure, bad combustion, or reduced airflow. Clean air inlet/outlet and fuel filter. Reset by turning switch to 0 then I.

Heater stops during operation

Check if the thermostat set temperature has been reached or if there is a flame failure/overheating issue.

LC displayed on screen

The unit has failed to ignite 3 times. Unlock by switching the power switch to ON 3 times within 10 seconds.

Before use
