Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential information for the installation and operation of the Uniview 0231C1GD Card Reader. The device supports both Wiegand and RS485 communication modes. The reader is designed for professional installation and requires a 12V power supply. Ensure all wiring is planned before installation and that you have the necessary tools, such as a Phillips screwdriver.
Packing List
Before beginning installation, ensure the package contains the following items:
- Card reader
- Screw components (2 sets)
- Mounting bracket
- Product documents
If the package is damaged or incomplete, contact your local dealer.
Product Overview
The card reader is available in two versions: with a keypad and without a keypad. Both versions share the same dimensions (129mm x 88mm x 21mm) and wiring configuration.
Wiring and Connections
The device uses a set of tail cables for connectivity. The card reader operates in Wiegand mode by default.
- Red: VDD12V (Power interface)
- Black: GND (Grounding interface)
- Orange: RS485_A (RS485 interface)
- Yellow: RS485_B (RS485 interface)
- Blue: WIEGAND_MODE (Switch Wiegand signals)
- Pink: TAMPER (Report tamper alarms)
- Grey: WIEGAND_BUZZER (Beep control)
- White: WIEGAND_OK (Green LED control)
- Purple: WIEGAND_ERR (Red LED control)
- Brown: WIEGAND_OUT0 (Wiegand output interface)
- Green: WIEGAND_OUT1 (Wiegand output interface)
Note: To switch to RS485 mode, both WIEGAND_OK and WIEGAND_ERR must be set to a low voltage level. In this mode, WIEGAND_OUT0, WIEGAND_OUT1, WIEGAND_BUZZER, and WIEGAND_MODE are used to indicate the RS485 address.
