The Uniview Connect Box is a portable tool designed to assist in the installation and commissioning of surveillance cameras. It provides temporary power, network connectivity, and testing capabilities, such as voltage detection and IP address modification, without requiring a PC. Key operational constraints include the inability to use the DC12V output and PoE output simultaneously, and the need to turn off the device when not in use to preserve battery life.

Overview

The Connect Box simplifies the deployment process for construction personnel. It allows for testing cameras on-site, even in locations without electricity or network access. The device is lightweight and portable, making it ideal for field use.

Appearance and Interfaces

The device features several ports and indicators to manage camera connections:

• System indicator: Steady on after powering on.
• Wi-Fi indicator: Steady on after enabling the hot-spot; blinks when transmitting data.
• Battery indicator: Displays current battery level.
• Voltage detection: Tests voltage in the range of 0 to 56V.
• 12V output: Supplies power for IPC (Maximum DC 12V 1A).
• PoE output: 802.3af PoE power supply (Maximum DC 48V 0.25A).
• PoE test: Tests if the output voltage of an external PoE device is normal (Range: 0 to 56V).

Device Management

Follow these steps to set up and use the device:

1. Start up: Turn on the power switch. The system indicator should be steady green.
2. Connect: Use the supplied power cable and a network cable (purchased separately). Connect the network cable to the port marked PoE output to supply power to the camera.
3. Wi-Fi Connection: View the Wi-Fi SSID on the device label and connect your phone to the box's Wi-Fi.
4. App Setup: Download and install the UNV-Link Pro app. Select Connect Box and follow the on-screen instructions to add cameras.
5. Adjust and Test: Use the app to adjust camera parameters, such as changing names, passwords, or syncing location data.

Note: Press the Reset button for at least 10 seconds to restore default Wi-Fi configuration. To turn off the box, long press the power button when the switch is ON.

Safety and Maintenance

To ensure safe operation and longevity of the device:

• Battery: Avoid extreme temperatures and air pressure. Do not replace the battery yourself. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
• Network Security: Change the default password immediately. Keep firmware updated. Disable unused features like UPnP, SNMP, and Multicast.
• Environment: Ensure good ventilation and keep the device away from liquids. Do not stack devices.
• Power: Use only the supplied power adapter or a UL-certified power supply that meets LPS requirements.
