Quick Guide

This guide provides essential information for installing and operating the Uniview 0235C4SJ Face Recognition Access Control Terminal. Before installation, ensure you have the necessary tools and have planned your cable layout. The device requires a stable power supply and should be installed in an environment with bright ambient light, avoiding direct backlighting.

Device Overview

The terminal features a display screen, camera, and various sensors. Key components include a light supplement lamp, temperature sensor, range sensor, and a reboot button. The structure varies slightly by model (Type A and Type B), but both include standard interfaces for power, network, and door control.

Installation

The device supports desktop mounting or standing pole mounting. The standing pole is not included and must be purchased separately. Ensure the device is securely installed on a flat surface to prevent falling. When installing, avoid intense direct light and ensure the area is well-lit.

Device Wiring

Proper wiring is critical for functionality. Plan the layout for power, network, door lock, and alarm cables. The terminal supports input devices (sending signals) and output devices (receiving signals). Refer to the wiring schematic in the manual to connect alarm inputs/outputs, door locks, and network interfaces correctly. Do not pull the cables during installation to avoid loosening connectors.

Device Startup

Once installed, connect the power adapter to the mains supply and the device power interface. The display screen will light up and show the live view upon successful startup.

Web Login

You can manage the device via a web browser. Use Internet Explorer (IE9 or later) and enter the device IP address (default: 192.168.1.13). The default credentials are username admin and password 123456. It is strongly recommended to change the default password immediately to a strong password containing digits, letters, and special characters.

Personnel Management

Personnel can be managed via the Web interface or the device GUI. On the Web interface, navigate to Setup > Intelligent > Face Library. On the device GUI, tap and hold the main interface for more than 3 seconds, enter the activation password, and select User Management.

Face Recognition Precautions

To ensure accurate recognition, follow these guidelines:

• Photo Requirements: Use bareheaded, full-face photos with a pure color background. Avoid heavy makeup.
• Match Position: The recognizable distance is between 0.5m and 2m. If recognition fails, adjust your distance accordingly.
• Posture: Keep a natural expression, face the recognition window directly, and avoid tilting your head or looking away.

Safety and Security

Take necessary measures to enhance network security, such as changing passwords regularly, enabling HTTPS/SSL, and disabling unused features like UPnP or Multicast. The device contains a coin cell battery; keep it away from children and do not ingest. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
