This electric chainsaw is designed for cutting wood. Before operating, ensure you have read all safety warnings. Always wear protective gear, including eye and hearing protection. Check the oil level and chain tension before every use. Never operate the saw above shoulder height or in high wind conditions. Always maintain a firm grip with both hands.
Product Description
The WEN 4015 is a 14-inch electric chainsaw featuring a 120V, 9A universal motor. It includes an auto-oiling system, a cord strain relief notch, and a safety button to prevent accidental starting. The tool is double-insulated, eliminating the need for grounding.
Assembly and Adjustments
Filling the Auto Oil System: Remove the oil cap and fill the reservoir with bar and chain oil until full. Check the level every 10 minutes of use.
Installing the Guide Bar and Chain:
- Place the saw on a firm surface and remove the blade cover nut.
- Wrap the saw chain around the guide bar, ensuring teeth point in the direction of rotation.
- Align the guide bar slot with the bolt and chain tensioning pin.
- Replace the cover and tighten the nut.
Tensioning the Chain: The chain is properly tensioned if it can be lifted 1/8 inch (3 mm) from the center of the guide bar. Use the chain tensioning screw to adjust. Clockwise tightens, counter-clockwise loosens.
Operation
Starting the Saw: Press the safety button and then squeeze the trigger. Release the trigger to stop.

Felling a Tree: Plan an escape route. Make a notch 1/3 the diameter of the tree, then make the felling back cut at least 50mm higher than the horizontal notching cut.
Bucking a Log: If supported along the entire length, cut from the top (overbuck). If supported on one end, cut 1/3 from the underside (underbuck), then finish with an overbuck. If supported on both ends, cut 1/3 from the top, then finish with an underbuck.
Limbing: Remove small limbs in one cut. Cut branches under tension from the bottom up to avoid binding.
Maintenance and Storage
Unplug the tool before any maintenance. Keep air vents free of debris. Wipe the housing with a soft, moist cloth. Routinely clean dust from the tension housing and oil outlet. Before storing, remove tension from the chain and drain the oil tank. Store in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
If the saw does not turn on, check the power connection, extension cord size, and ensure the safety button is pressed. If the bar or chain overheats, check the oil level and chain tension. If the chain is loose, allow it to cool and adjust the tension.
