Important Information
This guide covers the installation of the Yoshimura Micro Turn Signal Adapter Plates (074BG117200) on the Suzuki GSX-8R. Before beginning, ensure you have all necessary tools and check local laws regarding the use of red front lights, as they are prohibited in most states. The installation requires removing the factory fairings and splicing wires using the provided solder shrink connectors.
Parts List
- Front Turn Signal Plate (074BG117200-B) - Qty 2
- M6 X 1.0 Nylon Lock Nut (6MMLN) - Qty 2
- 6mm X 14mm Button Head Cap Screw (M6X14BHS) - Qty 2
- 6mm Flat Washer - Large (6MMWASHERL) - Qty 2
- YRD Micro Combo LED Turn Signal Kit (072BGMICRTSR) - Qty 1
Removal
- Follow the steps in your factory service or owner's manual to remove the left and right side fairings.
- Before removing the fairings, locate and disconnect the left and right front turn signal connectors.
- Remove the turn signal nut and hat washer, then carefully remove the stock turn signals from the fairings.
- Cut the stock turn signal wires 4 inches from the male connector of the stock turn signal wire. Do not cut the main harness.
Installation

- Place the micro turn signal into the smaller hole and insert the plastic hex nut inside the pocket of the front turn signal plate (074BG117200-B).
- Note: Proper positioning is dependent on the orientation of the plastic nut. If the turn signal is not facing forward, rotate the plastic nut in the adapter plate pocket and try again.
- Insert the turn signal plate onto the outside of the fairing where the stock turn signal was removed.
- Secure the assembly using the M6X14BHS screw, 6MMWASHERL washer, and 6MMLN locking nut. Ensure the button head cap screw goes into the smaller hole of the fairing and the washer is placed on the inside of the fairing.
Wiring
Use the solder shrink connectors provided in the kit to connect the turn signal wires to the micro light wires as follows:
- Right Side: Black and White to Black; Green to Blue.
- Left Side: Black and White to Black; Black to Blue.
Connection Procedure:
- Strip the stock turn signal wire ends 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch and insert them into the BN-SSS-22-18 solder shrink connectors.
- Center the spliced wire ends in the middle of the connector.
- Using a heat gun or lighter, apply heat evenly to the outer edges of the connector to shrink and hold the wires in place.
- Heat the center of the connector evenly until the solder begins to liquefy.
- Allow the connection to cool completely, then tug both ends of the wires to verify the connection is secured.
- Re-connect the turn signal connector to the wiring harness.
- Repeat these steps for the opposite side.
Final Checks
- Reinstall the fairings using the reverse steps of removal.
- Check for proper function of the turn signals and ensure all components are secure prior to riding.
- Note: The white running light wire and red brake light wire on the micro signals will not be used; bundle them back up and tuck them away.
