Quick Guide from the Manual

This document provides installation instructions for the Golden Lighting 1081-5P pendant light. Important: All installation work should be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the fuse or circuit breaker before beginning. Ensure you use only the specified bulbs and do not exceed the maximum wattage.

Parts Identification

The fixture consists of several components, including the mounting strap (B), canopy (I), chain (O), and shade (Q). Ensure all parts are present before starting assembly. Refer to the assembly diagram for the correct sequence of parts from the ceiling mounting strap down to the shade.

Preparation for Installation

  • Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and locate the parts bag.
  • Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture and mounting strap.
  • Attach the mounting strap (B) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (A).

Assembling the Fixture

  1. Determine the correct chain length for the desired hanging height. Use pliers to open and remove excess chain links.
  2. Attach chain connectors (J) to the chain (O) and connect the fixture to the canopy loop (D).
  3. Feed the fixture wires from the post (M) through the top loop (L), ring (K), chain (O), canopy loop collar (J), canopy loop (D), and canopy (I).
  4. Thread the top loop (L) onto the post (M) and slide the canopy assembly down.

Connecting the Wires

Have an assistant support the fixture's weight during wiring. Connect the fixture wires to the power supply wires from the junction box:

  • Hot: Connect to the smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread.
  • Neutral: Connect to the ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread.
  • Ground: Connect to the copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread.

Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure them with a wire connector. If no house ground wire is available, wrap the fixture's ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket.

Finishing the Installation

Lift the canopy (I) to the ceiling and secure it by threading the canopy loop collar (J) and canopy loop (D) over the nipple (F). Install the light bulbs (not provided) into the sockets (N). The arms (P) are adjustable; ensure the bulbs do not touch the shade (Q). Turn on the power to test the fixture.
